Star Trek: Operation Enterprise opened in 2017 from manufacturer Mack Rides and is the flagship roller coaster at Movie Park Germany.

The ride acts as a very visual entry to the park. As soon as you pass through the main archway, the ride stands tall over the Movie Park Germany film reel statue as a tease of things to come throughout your day.

Once you have made your way to the Starfleet Academy, you enter the queue into the building. After the impressive visual of the ride at the start of your day, it does seem strange that the ride is not visible from the entrance or the queue which takes away some of the excitement of the ride. However the queue makes up for this as you embrace the Star Trek universe with memorabilia and a mock set up of the bridge.

Once inside the station, this area surprisingly lacks some of the attention to detail that the rest of the queue enforced and is very bland. However you soon board the train and head out of the station onto a switch track which moves sideways to load you onto the launch platform.

Star Trek: Operation Enterprise features a triple launch system and is a great way to start the roller coaster experience. Starting with a small forward thrust, you do not have enough momentum to complete the circuit and you roll backwards getting launched into the reverse spike. This is the best part of the ride with some great forces, especially if you are on the back row and at the highest point of the tower. Falling back down to the launch pad and a third launch gets you up to speed to complete the circuit.

Throughout this short coaster, you will experience a thrilling top hat, an Immelmann that goes straight into a heartline roll, a great overbanked turn, a few bunny hops before finishing with a zero-g roll.

All of the elements are fun and this is also the best way to describe this roller coaster. The Mack Rides restraints offers comfort and freedom as found on their other roller coasters such as Icon at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blue Fire at Europa Park.

Star Trek: Operation Enterprise has the best start compared to these two with the triple launch system, however Icon is a tough roller coaster to beat.

Afterwards, you will feel very satisfied and will definitely want to take multiple rides on this coaster throughout the day. This is the highlight of Movie Park Germany and is a fantastic coaster to their line-up.

Take a ride on Star Trek: Operation Enterprise with our 7 theme parks tour in 2021.
