GENERAL FAQ

Below are some of the most common questions we get asked, if you cannot find your answer below, please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

What is the maximum tour size?

The maximum size for each tour is 8 people. With a smaller group, the traveller gets a better experience as the guide is able to offer more support and flexibility in dealing with each individual’s needs and requirements.

What is the minimum tour size?

We aim to run every scheduled tour and will do our best in making sure this is possible. Our minimum size group is 3 people as we aim to cover costs for transport and admin charges.

What is the average size for a group?

Being new to the market, it is difficult to predict how successful Coaster Breaks will become. We anticipate approximately 6 guests per a tour and we hope that you will be one of them.

What do I need to pack for the entire trip?

We encourage travellers to pack as light as possible as there will be movement between hotels via the mini bus. Please check the weather of your destination ahead of travelling and pack accordingly.

What language is the tour in?

All of our tours are in English.

What visas are required?

Currently all of our tours are in the European Union. If you are member of an EU country or the UK, you will not need a Visa. Other countries such as the United States of America and Canada are also exempt from visa requirement. Please check with you local government website for the latest information.

What are the age restrictions for your tours?

All of our tours currently operate for the over 18 years only market. This is due to either what can be inappropriate conversations and alcohol around a younger audience and also to allow other guests without any worries when around younger guests.

We are looking at ways to incorporate more family friendly tours in the future and we thank you for your patience as we slowly expand our offerings.

Can we hire out a tour for a private group?

Hopefully in the future, however at the moment we are concentrating on the set tours currently on offer.

Where are we staying?

Throughout the Belgium, Germany & The Netherlands tour we will stay at 4 different hotels. For more information on each hotel, click here

*Please note, hotels regularly change for a variety of reasons.

I am a single traveller, is this ok?

Yes of course. Our tours were designed for single travellers as a more efficient, cost effective and social way to explore some of the world’s greatest theme parks. As a single traveller, you will be sharing a room with a similar person who is also travelling alone. This is a great opportunity to meet people and create friends for life.

I don’t want to share a room, can I have my own?

Yes. We offer an optional charge of £225 per tour for single room occupancy. Just select the box when purchasing your trip.

What time do I need to be at the hotel on my first day?

You can arrive anytime throughout the day as our guide will be waiting for you from approximately 14:30 on the Belgium tour and from 16:00 on the South West Germany tour, we have outlined some travel options for arriving and this can be found in the tour itinerary.

How physically demanding are the trips?

Every trip requires a lot of walking which is common for any theme park. Please make sure you bring comfortable footwear as this will help your experience greatly. We cannot stress the comfortable footwear enough!

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, every one of our trips requires you to bring your own travel insurance. This is for your benefit as much as our own. For example, if your flight was cancelled and you missed the first couple days of the tour, your travel insurance will protect you and will cover you for lost time.

What training and knowledge does your staff have?

All of our staff our knowledgeable of not just the theme parks on your tour, but the whole roller coaster industry. We can provide information on anything in this area. Our staff have also been trained for first aid and will be able to assist with any problems you occur. We remain with excellent knowledge of the travel industry and regularly keep up to date with any emerging changes including the pandemic.

I’m not really a roller coaster enthusiast, will I be out of place?

Not at all, in fact by the end of each trip, you would have been on so many coasters and attractions that you could keep up with any conversation with an enthusiast. Our trips are designed for everyone and the main thing you need to enjoy is fun to have a good time.

What happens to my money once I pay?

All of your payments will be placed into a client trust account. This will ensure if there are any problems that require a refund, this will be withdrawn from this account. This creates a guarantee of being financially stable in the event that the trip has been cancelled for any reason such as Covid_19. Your funds will not leave this account until the departure date of your trip. We work with Protected Trust Services which is a highly regarded trustee account provider in the travel industry. To check our membership, you can contact PTS and quote our membership number 5567. This is an alternative to travel insurance such as ABTA of which we believe is a lot better option for our customers as it becomes a faster turn around for any such refunds and ensures that Coaster Breaks is compliant with the Package Travel Regulations Act 2018.

Is Coaster Breaks a member of ATOL?

This is a very common question and unfortunately shows the understanding of what ATOL means. ATOL is Air Travel Operators License, we do not operate air travel and so therefore do not need insurance in place for mis-sold places on flights that are cancelled.
