Summer 2021 Update
The traffic light system is live, theme parks are reopening over Europe and we are getting ready for a fantastic summer of thrills! Here is the latest update from Coaster Breaks:
The traffic light system has gone live with only 12 countries making the green list. This is a very good first step to getting abroad this summer, although it may not seem like it.
The pandemic in 2020 saw quarantine free travel resume in July, we are still a few months ahead of this and with the vaccination rolling out throughout Europe at a steady pace, it is sure to be a better summer ahead. Germany has passed over 1 million vaccines a day on multiple occasions recently!
The EU has given a timeline allowing vaccinated tourists in from June 9 and recently, Germany has confirmed that visitors who are fully vaccinated will not need to test to enter the country.
Theme parks are opening up with Walibi Belgium launching their new coaster Kondaa on May 8, The Netherlands hopeful to open on May 19 and Germany to follow shortly before the end of the month. Again this is fantastic news as European parks did not open until June in 2020.
Coaster Breaks will only run in countries on a green list and if you have a booking which moves to amber or (and hopefully not) red, then you will receive a full refund for your trip. If a single country out of Belgium, Germany or The Netherlands enters an amber state, we will aim to make alternatives with other parks and you will be given the choice to accept this change or to receive a full refund.
The government will review the traffic light system every 3 weeks. Our first tour is scheduled for July 15 and we will have 3 reviews ahead of this date. With what the EU have said allowing in tourists from third countries in June, it is looking increasingly more likely that such destinations in Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands and France will be permitted.
On June 28 there will be another big announcement from the government about international travel and any changes to rules that will take place for the summer. It is expected that PCR test will finish at some point for green countries and we will know more about this in the future. Currently you will need to take a PCR test on or before day 2 of arriving back in the UK.
Pricing
We are happy to announce that the finalised price for Coaster Breaks is £1,099pp. Halloween events will have an additional £50pp charge due to the increased offering by the theme parks.
Solo travellers are paired up with someone of the same gender and of a similar age. We know some people may be cautious of sharing a room due to the current pandemic so we have reduced the price of single room supplements in 2021 to only an additional £180 if you wish to have your own room.
If you are booking for two or more people, you will be given a choice of two single beds or one double bed.
When making your booking, a non-refundable deposit of £150 will be charged followed by the remaining balance no later than 4 weeks before your departure.
Pre-registration & on-sale times
You can secure your spot with a pre-registration and when we go on sale, you will be given a first refusal for your selected date.
To access the pre-registration, make sure you are signed up to receive newsletters from Coaster Breaks and a special link will be sent out at 9am on Friday 21 May. This is a no obligation registration and as such no money will be taken for the pre-registration. You will simply provide basic contact information and the date you wish to attend. You will then be included in the pre-sale which will go live on Wednesday 2 June for you to make your final decision.
The general sale will be live on Friday 4 June at 9am. Due to the limited capacity, please note that this will be on a first come first served basis and by pre-registering, we cannot guarantee your place until after the form has been completed. We will aim to let you know as soon as possible the outcome of your pre-registration.
Places are currently limited to 10 per tour, however this may increase back to 15 at some of the later dates when restrictions are eased. Hopefully ahead of our Halloween events.
